Publix Super Markets pharmacies are the first grocery store pharmacy chain to receive accreditation from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy.

The board gave that accreditation through its durable medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics and supplies (DMEPOS) accreditation program. Its DMEPOS program ensures that suppliers meet quality and accreditation standards set by the federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Publix has 715 pharmacies, the board said. Go to www.nabp.net for more information about the board and its accreditation program.
