Fire in Garage Destroys House

A home east of Winter Haven was destroyed Wednesday night after a golf cart in the garage caught fire, officials said.
The fire at the single-story home at 14 Meadowlake Court in the Cypresswood subdivision was reported about 8:30 p.m.
The home and two cars will probably be a total loss, said Kristin Guira, a spokeswoman for Polk County Public Safety.
There were no reported injuries.
